When I first started working as a freelance designer in 2012 I was so focused on making an income to support my life I worried about competition, what other people were doing, how I compared to them, what was missing from my offers… Through the years one thing I noticed as my business started growing that there was something getting lost in the way. 


I’m no business coach but one thing to focus on when starting a small business, other than offering great products/service is have a great value for what you are offering. Forget competition, focus on your business and how you can improve your clients’ lives by offering great services.

As your small business grows, you need to figure out how your services’ value also adds up so you can offer more things in the future other than making a better income, it’s also important to have a better value.
